ABOUT US
The Sunshine Box is a non-profit charity that aims to raise funds for toy boxes at hospitals around Tayside & Fife. The project started as a simple donation drive to collect Easter eggs for the children at Ninewells Hospital Dundee and quickly grew into a registered Scottish Charity (SC046825) that supplies gifts to over 40 different toy boxes to hospitals in Tayside & Fife. The charity was officially founded in August 2016.
The toy boxes are regularly filled with brand new toys, books and games for children aged 0-16 years who are undergoing painful and frightening procedures. They can choose a gift to make the difficult and daunting experience of being in hospital somewhat more comfortable.
There are currently three working trustees responsible for the management of the charity - myself and two of my children, Sara and Owen.
I'd like to thank everyone for all the support we've received so far, it really has been overwhelming and means so much to the children, their parents and the staff at the hospital.

A classical wooden toy box was beautifully hand-painted by a small number of volunteers in August 2016 and was branded 'The Sunshine Box'.
This ensured it would be completely unique and allowed us to offer the brightest, funnest and most exciting design for the children on the ward.
The end product, as seen in the slideshow, features a selection of loveable familiar characters and a fairy-tale castle.
